THE LIONHEAD RABBIT
The Lionhead rabbit is a fancy rabbit which looks like a Lion but a rabbit version.
There are many colours of the Lionhead but once again the main thing in showing Lionheads is good type.
The Lionheads were first standardised May 1st 2002.
The ring size for showing is 'C' rings.

Type
The Lionhead has to be cobby, well rounded body, head bold with well developed muzzle.
Legs medium length and not too fine, stance to be high enough to show full chest and mane.
Ears
Not to exceed 3 inches, well covered but no furnishings and carried erect.
Eyes
Bold and bright, eyes of whites - red or blue, in all other colours as per colour standard.
Mane
The mane is the most important part of the standard.
It should be between 2-3 inches in length, to form a full circle around the head extending to a 'V' at the back of neck, falling into a fringe between the ears.
Noticeably longer hair on cheeks and chest.
Coat
The coat to be dense of medium length, roll back, and even all over body, small amount of extended fur around flanks permissible on under five months exhibit, but not desired.
Colour
All colours as long as they conform to a recognised colour and pattern.
Condition
The condition is also important on any rabbit.
The Lionhead should be free from any disease and to be of perfect health.
Faults
Woolly furnishings, head too fine, ears too long, excessive fur on flanks and poor colour.

Firstly type

Bold and bright of good colour.
Mane
The mane should be between 2 - 3 “ in length to form a circle around the head extending to a ‘V’ at the back of the neck.

The coat to be dense, of medium length, roll back, extending fur on flank allowed on adults, permissible on under five months, but not desired.

All colours as long as they conform to a recognised colour and pattern.
Condition
The exhibit should be in perfect state of health, free from soiling especially on feet.
Faults
Head too fine, poor colour and condition, ears separate from body.
